PLOG丨Drink in Shanghai——COA

It had been the third Friday since COA was reopen in Shanghai, rainy, but crowded as usual.  Thanks to my friend, who was on PTO mode that day, at 7:00 pm, I went through the long queue, going directly up to the bar counter on the third floor.

Though the light was dim, I could see the whole room was filled with so many pretty ladies wearing nice make-ups and dressing in chic outfits. While I know there was only after-work tiredness on my face, I didn’t even need to look in the mirror. My appearance anxiety rose…

Anyway, back to drinks. The menu was fixed on the third floor. If you are looking for a omakase, you have to arrive early and get to the fourth floor. Good luck with that.

In the menu were 5-6 cocktails and several snacks. You can also order some food to go with the drinks, but considering the calories, I chose to pass.

For this visit, we had Chris as our bartender. Thanks for her service.

1. Pepper Smash

You will be hit by a strong flavor of green pepper for the first sip, and then comes the sharp tequila mixed with rich spices. The green peppers are freshly squeezed, adding a vegetable and fruit flavor to this special blend. Very unique, I would say.

2. Tranquil Garden

Curious of the ingredients, in which have Chinese prickled cabbage and matcha, I paid for this cup. However, the higher the expectation, the greater the disappointment. Neither did I taste Chinese prickled cabbage, nor the matcha, but a sort of cough syrup that I had when I was sick when I was a kid.

3. Cacao Husk Resita

Too bitter for me.. cuz mik chocolate is my go-to, I’m into sweet chocolate, and merely eat dark ones. The bitter mainly comes from the cocoa pod. There was a piece of 75% chocolate lying on the ice. The taste would be gentler when you sip after have a small bite of the chocolate. Recommend this blend to dark chocolate lovers.

4. Bloody “Beef” Maria

I suppose no one wouldn’t be attracted by this funny name. They literally add beef stock in it, which makes it taste like tomato beef soup. Definitely worth trying. I’m not gonna talk about and spoil it more here. Go for it and try out yourself 😉
